Dwayne Johnson 'Disappointed' Over Hulk Hogan Racism Row

Dwayne Johnson has spoken of his disappointment over the Hulk Hogan racism row.

The Rock, who has known Hogan - real name Terry Bollea - for years on the pro wrestling circuit, made the comments during a panel interview for his new TV comedy series ‘Ballers’.

“Yeah, I saw that. I was pretty disappointed with what I heard, like all of us, by the way,” he said.

“I was really disappointed in him.”

Hogan was ousted from the WWE last week, after audio emerged online of him repeatedly using the n-word.

“I’ve known Terry for a lot of years, and my dad helped train him in Florida in the 70s, with my uncles,” Johnson went on.

“So I had not known the man to be racist. It’s funny, it’s one of those things where - and not justifying what he said - we’ve all talked trash, especially in private.”

“He said what he said, and now he’s paying the price.”

Johnson comes from a long line of wrestlers, making his career as 'The Rock’ in the mid-90s.

His grandfather was Samoan pro wrestler Peter Maiva, and his grandmother Lia was a pioneering female wrestling promoter.

Johnson’s father was the wrestler Rocky Johnson, while his uncles competed under the name The Wild Samoans.
