Actress Ashley Judd says 'deal' helped her flee from Harvey Weinstein

Ashley Judd has revealed how she allegedly fled from Harvey Weinstein's sexual advances by offering him a deal.

Appearing for the first time on television since she became the first woman to accuse the film producer of sexual harassment in a New York Times investigation, Judd said her tactic was "brilliant".

In the interview with Good Morning America, the Kiss The Girls star described how Weinstein allegedly lured her into his private room, disguising it as a business meeting, and then proceeded to make sexual advances towards her.

"He kept coming back at me and finally I just said: 'When I win an Oscar in one of your movies, okay?" said Judd, who was a young actress at the time of the alleged incident two decades ago.

"And he said: 'Yeah when you get nominated'. And I said: 'No. When I win an Oscar!' And I just fled," she told the show.

The 49-year-old actress said she remains in "two minds" about how she handled the confrontation, feeling ashamed but also brilliant.

"Am I proud of that? I'm of two minds. The proud that shames myself says 'no'. The part of me that understands the way shame works says: 'That was absolutely brilliant!'," she said.

"Good job kid, you got out of there - well done," she added.

More than 60 women have accused Weinstein of sexual harassment, assault and rape.

They include actress Natassia Malthe , who claimed Weinstein raped her after the 2008 BAFTAs ceremony.

Malthe told a news conference that the producer assaulted her in a London hotel on 10 February, 2008, while she was working as a spokeswoman for LG.

He has "unequivocally denied" any allegations of non-consensual sex.
