The £29 rooms are available between 11 December and 14 January 22018.

Meanwhile The Easy Hotel chain has 3,000 rooms at just £9.99 – but the offer runs out when the rooms run out, or by 4 December.

Claim your PPI back – and pay no fee

If you were ever flogged payment protection insurance you should be in line for compensation.

Millions have already had payouts, which has prompted a range of unscrupulous claims-chasers to contact people offering to sort out their PPI compensation claims.

But the dodgy advisers will take up to 40% of any payout as their fee – which means you could lose hundreds or thousands of pounds to the firms.

Claiming compensation needn’t cost you a penny. MoneySavingExpert has a guide which will help you reclaim PPI for free.

Tip of the week

Check your subscriptions! We spent an average of £160 in the last three months on unwanted subscriptions, like gym memberships, television, insurance and online streaming services.

That’s according to Citizens Advice which warns that while it may be easy to sign up for these services, they can be difficult to get out of. That means it’s crucial to check the small print before signing up. The charity advises:

  • Check your cancellation rights

Each supplier can set their own cancellation policy and doesn’t need to offer you a right to cancel your subscription early. Make sure the T&Cs look reasonable before signing up.

  • Be aware of the cooling-off period

If you buy a subscription online, the law says you usually have 14 days to get your money back if you change your mind. But be careful, you might not be able to get a refund if you start using the service straight away.

  • Challenge unfair T&Cs

If you’re finding it tough or have to give a long period of notice to cancel a subscription, contact the supplier’s customer services department. If you get no joy report the company to Trading Standards.
