Xavier receives National Letter of Intent from four-star commit Jonathan Powell
Xavier University announced that the Musketeers received a signed National Letter of Intent from four-star recruit Jonathan Powell of Centerville High School.
"We are really excited about Jonathan joining the Xavier family," Xavier head coach Sean Miller said in a release. "Jonathan is a 6-foot-6 highly skilled guard. Jonathan is a terrific shooter and makes great playmaking decisions for someone with his size. He also played for the Midwest Basketball Club on the Adidas summer circuit. Jonathan has an extremely bright future who will thrive in our player development system here at Xavier."
Powell, who announced his commitment to the Musketeers at the end of May, is the No. 98 prospect in the country according to 247Sports and is the No. 4 player in Ohio.
Powell was third-team All-Ohio in Division II for Chaminade Julienne as a sophomore in 2022 before transferring to the Elks for his junior campaign. Last season, Powell was first-team All-Ohio, averaging 16.7 points per game with 3.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals while helping the Elks to a state tournament appearance.
