Xavier lands 1st Class of 2025 commit in Nyk Lewis, No. 1 player in Washington, D.C.
After collecting a transfer portal class that is ranked No. 37 in the nation that will hopefully turn Xavier back into a Big East contender, the Musketeers have shifted their off-court focus to the recruiting trail.
On Thursday, Xavier landed its first commitment from the Class of 2025 in Nyk Lewis, who announced his decision to join the Musketeers on Instagram.
Xavier had been linked to Lewis over the summer and flipped to the favorite to land the 6-foot-1, 190-pound guard earlier this week by several recruiting websites.

Lewis took an official visit to Xavier in June.
Lewis, out of Gonzaga High School, is ranked by 247Sports as a four-star recruit and the No. 1 player in Washington D.C. for the Class of 2025.
Lewis' offer sheet included several suitors, including a few of Xavier's conference rivals like Georgetown, Creighton, Marquette and Providence. Seton Hall seemed to be the runner-up in landing Lewis, who is tabbed as a top-10 point guard in the country for the 2025 class.
