Who won NASCAR Cup race at Las Vegas? Winner is Joey Logano plus full results
The checkered flag has flown for the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Joey Logano won Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Logano and his crew chief, Paul Wolfe, elected to stay out during the final run and push the fuel mileage of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford to the end of the race.
"We did some fuel mileage stuff, didn't we?" Logano said. "We're going to the Championship 4 again, I don't know if what's the deal with even years, maybe it's real."
Christopher Bell pitted with 37 laps to go but made a frantic run to the front. He nearly caught Logano in the final laps, finishing less than a second behind the No. 22.
"It's just a bummer," Bell said. "Everyone on this team did everything perfect today, this thing was obviously on rails. Pit crew did an amazing job, Adam (Stevens) called a great race. ... It just wasn't meant to be today."
Other playoff drivers struggled on Sunday. Tyler Reddick, Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney were involved in an incident in the second stage which ended with Reddick flipping on the frontstretch.
