CASSANDRA NEGLEY: This is Cassandra Negle with Yahoo Sports. And we're breaking down the NCAA tournament so that you can fill out your brackets. Let's look at saddle 3.
The number 1 seed here is Virginia Tech. They're on an 11-0 run, won the ACC Tournament title, and have beaten some of the best teams in the ACC, which turned into an incredibly competitive conference. After them in this bracket is number 2, UConn number 3 Ohio State, and number 4 Tennessee.
This is an interesting and a tough bracket for Virginia Tech, because UConn is here. And while UConn has had some issues this year, they've gone through a lot of injuries, they do have Azzi Fudd back, and they seem to be inevitable. They have 14 consecutive Final Fours that includes last year's run after Paige Bueckers missed some time. Now, they have a team that has showed it can compete with some of the best teams in the nation, almost defeated South Carolina last month, but they've also lost to some teams that they shouldn't have.
Ohio State is a very strong offensive team that could cause problems. They ran into the Caitlin Clark Iowa juggernaut in the Big Ten title game. And Tennessee will host after the Lady Vols upended LSU in the SEC semifinals to get that signature win. They are a team that don't look great on paper with that record, but they've lost to some of the best teams in the nation and had an incredibly tough schedule, so keep an eye on what they can do.
