Paige vs. Caitlin, Part 2. Gamecocks vs. Wolfpack.
The women's Final Four is Friday night with the national semifinal winners advancing to the championship game Sunday for a chance at the trophy, the glory and all the bragging rights.
First, Dawn Staley's undefeated Gamecocks will take on No. 3 seed NC State. Kamilla Cardoso — who declared for the WNBA Draft on April 1 — and South Carolina are looking for their third championship. The Wolfpack is back in the Final Four for the first time since 1998. They have never won an NCAA Tournament title, but the scene in Raleigh would be special if they — along with the men's team — were to advance. Aziaha James has led the Wolfpack with her 3-point shooting and leadership. She is one of just two members of the team who were with coach Wes Moore when UConn upset them in the Elite Eight two years ago.
In the nightcap, Caitlin Clark and Iowa face off against Paige Bueckers and UConn. Clark is a two-time player of the year and the all-time leading scorer in college basketball. Bueckers is the 2021 player of the year who is back after some serious injuries. The floor generals have no shortage of talent and this game could come down to the closing seconds. Iowa is back in the Final Four after losing in the title game last season. UConn is back after missing out last year.
