Wizards deal Otto Porter to Bulls for Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis
With John Wall out, the Washington Wizards have decided to make some moves. The team struck Wednesday, sending Otto Porter to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis, according to Yahoo Sports’ Vincent Goodwill.

The 25-year-old Porter is averaging 12.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Prior to Wednesday, the Wizards had said they wanted to keep Porter around. It’s possible Wall’s Achilles injury that will likely sideline him until 2020 caused the team to re-evaluate that decision. Wall could miss 12 months due to the injury.
In exchange, the Wizards will receive Parker and Portis. The 23-year-old Parker struggled to find a role with the Bulls after signing a two-year, $40 million deal with the team in the offseason. He played his way out of the team’s rotation shortly after Jim Boylen took over as the team’s head coach. Parker is averaging 14.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
The 23-year-old Portis is averaging 14.1 points and 7.3 rebounds in 22 games.
The Wizards will also receive a 2023 second-round pick in the deal, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
