Whose game ball is it anyway? Social media erupts after Bucks-Pacers postgame tussle
It was clear that Giannis Antetokounmpo wanted the damn ball Wednesday night.
Both during and after the Milwaukee Bucks' game with the Indiana Pacers.
Out to avenge last Friday's loss in the NBA In-Season Tournament, and saying the Bucks needed to "be better," Antetokounmpo set a franchise scoring record in with 64 points in Milwaukee's 140-126 victory over Indiana at Fiserv Forum.
That's a certainly game ball-worthy effort, But Giannis is not sure he has it.
Though it appeared a member of the Bucks security team was handed the ball by an NBA official immediately after the game, the Bucks apparently got word that the Pacers ended up with the rock.
That touched off postgame chaos between the two teams.
Giannis' 64-point performance certainly got social media talking, but his sprint down the tunnel toward the Pacers' locker room to find the historic orange sphere sent X (the site formerly known as Twitter) into a frenzy:
Giannis Antetokounmpo's 64 points came on only 28 FG attempts.
It's the most points with fewer than 30 FGA in a game in NBA history. pic.twitter.com/2xRX6aLlwG— ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) December 14, 2023
