Who's winning the World Series? Yahoo Sports predicts the 2016 MLB postseason
With all eight playoff teams now chosen, it’s prediction time for the Yahoo Sports MLB crew. And this season, variety is the name of the game. The Chicago Cubs have a slight edge in the World Series predictions, but the sheer number of different teams and players in the prediction grid shows the strength of this group of playoff teams.
Our panel of predictors includes Yahoo Sports baseball columnists Tim Brown and Jeff Passan, as well as Big League Stew bloggers Chris Cwik, Israel Fehr, Mike Oz, Liz Roscher and Mark Townsend. This year it doesn’t look like there’s a clear consensus on much, except that the Boston Red Sox will eliminate the Cleveland Indians, and the Cubs will defeat the even-year magic of the San Francisco Giants.
But it’s the playoffs, so anything can happen. Any of us could end up looking like a fool when it’s all said and done, but that’s part of the fun. Join in and share your predictions in the comments.
In case you don’t recognize all the player pictures on the grid:
MVP: Addison Russell, Adrian Beltre, Trea Turner, David Ortiz, Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, and Rizzo
Disappointing players: Cole Hamels, Bryce Harper, Jake Arrieta, Arrieta, Adrian Gonzalez, Harper, and Harper.
