White Sox reliever Danny Farquhar stable but critical after suffering brain hemorrhage
The Chicago White Sox announced that relief pitcher Danny Farquhar is in stable but critical condition after suffering a brain hemorrhage during Friday’s game against the Houston Astros.
Farquhar had just pitched the top of the sixth inning for Chicago when he passed out in the dugout. He was attended to immediately by White Sox medical personnel and EMTs before being taken to Rush University Medical Center for further treatment and evaluation.
The White Sox later reported Farquhar had regained consciousness before leaving the ballpark.
On Saturday, the White Sox provided a more ominous update on Farquhar’s condition.

Farquhar, 31, has appeared in eight games for the White Sox this season, posting a 4.20 ERA in eight innings. He pitched two-thirds of an inning in Friday, allowing two runs on two hits.
The seven-year veteran has appeared in 253 games during his MLB career. He’s also time with the Blue Jays, Mariners and Rays.
Needless to say, baseball will be a secondary focus when the White Sox and Astros meet again Saturday night.

The Astros send along their best wishes as well after hearing the update.
Get well soon, Danny. Our thoughts are with him and his family during this difficult time.

We’re sure the rest of MLB will follow suit in support of one of their own.
We’ll have more on Farquhar’s condition as information becomes available.
