Where Peoria-area softball teams are ranked in the first Illinois state poll
Illini Bluffs is ranked as the top Class 1A softball team heading into the 2024 season.
The Illinois Coaches Association released its 2024 preseason high school softball rankings for all four classes last week. Nine Peoria-area teams are represented in the 1A, 2A and 3A polls, featuring the top 20 teams as well as other teams receiving votes.

Illini Bluffs, which was last season's 1A runner-up, is atop the ranks in 1A. Brimfield is rated 12th, while Havana is ranked 14th.
The Mid-Illini Conference is well-represented in the Class 3A poll, boasting four teams including three in the top 10. Metamora is third, East Peoria is No. 6, while Washington comes in at 10th and Dunlap is 18th. LaSalle-Peru is 15th in the 3A poll. Two-time reigning state champion Lemont is ranked No. 1 in 3A.

Reigning Class 1A state champion St. Bede comes in at No. 17 in the 2A poll. Three-time reigning state champ Taylor Ridge Rockridge takes the top spot in 2A.
Chicago Marist, which won last season's Class 4A state title, is No. 1 in 4A.
