Where Memphis football landed in college football polls after Week 11, win over Rice
Memphis football earned a few more votes in college football's polls this week, but the Tigers are still a ways away from getting ranked.
After beating Rice on Friday night at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, Memphis (8-2, 4-2, AAC) received 11 votes in the US LBM Coaches Poll on Sunday.
Even though Memphis earned a bounce-back win on Friday, last week's loss at UTSA and results elsewhere this weekend meant that it's extremely unlikely the Tigers can make the AAC title game.
The Tigers did not receive any votes in the AP Poll. They also were not ranked in the first edition of the CFP rankings, and those will again be released on Tuesday.
Memphis has two regular-season games remaining — home vs. UAB on Saturday (7 p.m. CT, ESPN2) and at Tulane on Thanksgiving Day — and then a bowl game.
