Here’s where Kansas football players will go as an un-drafted free agents after NFL draft

LAWRENCE — There were two Kansas football players selected in the 2024 NFL draft.

The San Francisco 49ers picked up Dominick Puni, an offensive lineman, in the third round with the 86th overall selection. The Chicago Bears picked up Austin Booker, a defensive lineman, in the fifth round with the 144th overall selection. Time will tell if KU can have an even higher number of selections next year as head coach Lance Leipold continues to move the program forward.

But those two aren’t the only ones who have professional futures. They haven’t been the only two pursuing such a dream in recent months. So, follow along here to see which Jayhawks are heading to NFL organizations as un-drafted free agents.

Craig Young agrees to join Indianapolis Colts

Craig Young started out in college at Ohio State, and after transferring to Kansas became an effective player for the Jayhawks. A versatile linebacker, he proved he could be reliable in a number of different roles. Whatever position he plays in the NFL, he has the athleticism to make plays.

Kenny Logan Jr. agrees to join Los Angeles Rams

Kenny Logan Jr. was one of the faces of Kansas' rebuild under Leipold. A starter at safety, he was routinely among the Jayhawks' leaders in tackles. Considering where the KU program was when he joined it, he certainly left it better than he found it.

Mike Novitsky agrees to join Seattle Seahawks

Mike Novitsky served as Kansas' regular starter at center over the past few seasons. A transfer from Buffalo, who followed Leipold to KU ahead of the 2021 season, he succeeded while making the jump up from the Group of Five ranks to the Power Five ranks. He'll be making another jump here, but his experience should give him a chance.

Jason Bean agrees to join Indianapolis Colts

Jason Bean played quarterback during his time in college at Kansas. However, his speed and athleticism provide him with the opportunity to have positional versatility. The Jayhawks wouldn't have made back-to-back bowl games without him.
