Here’s where Kansas basketball stands ahead of 2024 NCAA tournament bracket reveal

LAWRENCE — Kansas basketball is hours away from learning its NCAA tournament fate, with the 2024 Selection Sunday bracket reveal approaching at 5 p.m. (CT).

The Jayhawks (22-10) didn’t enjoy the season many expected, especially considering their latest outing saw them lose shorthanded in the second round of the Big 12 Conference tournament. Despite a strong start to the season, coach Bill Self’s squad struggled to find consistency down the stretch and fell out of the race for the Big 12 regular-season championship. It’s a team that’s searching for momentum ahead of the start of the NCAA Tournament.

But Kansas is still a team with an intriguing resume, considering it has wins during its non-conference slate against Kentucky (neutral), Tennessee (neutral), UConn (home), Missouri (home) and Indiana (away). It’s a team that, should it get graduate senior guard Kevin McCullar Jr. and senior center Hunter Dickinson back from injury as expected, has one of the best starting lineups the college game has to offer this year.

So, if the Jayhawks can find some momentum, it’s still possible that they could put together another NCAA Tournament run.
