Where the Jets sit in NFL power rankings entering Week 7
The offense looked better, but mistakes once again cost the Jets in a 23-20 Monday night loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Jets now sit at 2-4 but got their major reinforcement in wide receiver Davante Adams.
How does the media view the team in the various power rankings heading into Week 7? Let's take a look.

What Nate Davis had to say: “Can't blame Robert Saleh for this loss. Or, really, Aaron Rodgers, who had maybe his best game as a Jet. Or even a run game that entered Week 6 ranked last in the league but managed 121 yards. Maybe you could blame the special teams or struggling WR Mike Williams, who failed to deliver in another high-leverage situation – but his issues will be largely forgotten following Tuesday's long-awaited acquisition of WR Davante Adams. And, heck, the J-E-T-S might even get something from holdout LB Haason Reddick ... even if it's not on the field after he was permitted to seek a trade.”

What Mike Florio had to say: “For how long can a soon-to-be 41-year-old quarterback get banged around like this?"

What Rich Cimini had to say: "Owner Woody Johnson is out of patience. The owner's decision to fire coach Robert Saleh after only five games speaks to his sense of urgency. It's a wake-up call for the entire building, and it could portend additional moves. Perhaps the Jets will be more inclined to trade for WR Davante Adams. And maybe it will spur them to resolve the Haason Reddick holdout."

What Eric Edholm had to say: “Even after earning win No. 2, the Bengals still have yet to turn in a complete performance in all three phases. The defense and special teams did their jobs well against the Giants, even if the offense took a step back. The biggest issue clearly was protecting Joe Burrow up front against a very good Giants defensive line. On the plus side, Burrow's 47-yard TD run was a thing of beauty, Tee Higgins has regained his form, and Chase Brown continues stacking quality showings, although he was pretty quiet until the late touchdown. The Bengals are 2-4 with a plus-5 point differential against a schedule that has featured three strong opponents and three ... less-strong ones. They probably need to win at least two out of their next three (at Browns, home vs. Eagles and home vs. Raiders) in order to feel OK about their chances to compete prior to the schedule stiffening.”

What Frank Schwab had to say: “The Jets looked much better with Todd Downing calling the offensive plays. They had a great shot to beat the Bills in a huge AFC East game on Monday night. But it didn’t matter because they kept making sloppy mistakes. That’s who the Jets are this season. Will Davante Adams change this?"

What Pete Prisco had to say: “The new-coach bump didn't change the losing. Even so, the offense looked better against the Bills. But that is a damning loss.”
