Where every Big Ten football team is ranked in 2024 preseason coaches poll top 25
The start of the college football season is just a few weeks away, which means preseason polls continue to be released, with teams putting in the final touches on their offense and defenses in training camp.
That continued on Monday as the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll was released, with six Big Ten teams finding a spot in the preseason top 25 and several receiving votes.
Leading the pack for the Big Ten is Ryan Day and Ohio State, coming in at No. 2 just behind Georgia. The Buckeyes, who went 11-2 overall and lost to Missouri 14-3 in the Cotton Bowl last season, enter the 2024 campaign with a new-looked offense after the departures of star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to the NFL and quarterback Kyle McCord transferring to Syracuse. Graduate student wide receiver Emeka Egbuka and Kansas State transfer quarterback Will Howard will headline Ohio State's offense this season.

Three additional Big Ten programs found their way into the top 10, tying the conference with the SEC for most teams in the top 10 at four for a Power 5 conference. Dan Lanning and Oregon make their Big Ten debut in the Coaches Poll at No. 3, just 74 votes behind the Buckeyes, while defending national championship Michigan and Penn State came in at No. 8 and No. 9 respectively.
Elsewhere, USC and Iowa squeaked into the poll at No. 23 and No. 25 respectively.
But that wasn't it for the Big Ten as newly named league member Washington, Wisconsin, Maryland and Nebraska all received votes in the preseason poll with the Huskies receiving the most at 123 votes. A total of 25 votes separated Iowa and Washington for the final spot in the top 25.
