We are in the thick of college football, but basketball season crept up on Aggie fans, with all the attention focused on Mike Elko and the Aggie football team.

When the AP Top 25 poll dropped after a week of college basketball the SEC still leads the conferences with eight teams still ranked. Texas was the lone SEC team to fall out of the rankings with Texas A&M having the biggest drop down to No. 23. Alabama maintained their No. 2 ranking and Auburn had the biggest jump in the SEC moving up six spots to No. 6 after defeating Houston.

The SEC is going to be a battle and will be similar to how the football ranks have been trending this season. A ton of highly ranked teams and a few right out outside of the top 25 causing problems for each other all the to the SEC tournament.
