Wendell Carter Jr. and his parents went all-out with Black Panther outfits at the NBA draft
Trae Young has his shorts and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has his floral wallpaper suit and Wendell Carter Jr. has his Black Panther sash. However, Carter wasn’t the only member of his family to sport the look inspired by the superhero movie.
The Duke big man showed up to the NBA draft on Thursday in style, rocking a sash printed with a tiger in reference to Marvel’s cultural landmark.
“I saw a ‘Black Panther’ commercial, saw he had something wrapped around the top of his suit, so I was like, ‘Might as well try it out,'” Carter told NBA TV.

Carter was joined by his father, Wendell Carter Sr., and his mother, Kylia Carter, at the draft, with both parents also wearing clothes bearing a tiger. Kylia’s outfits comes by Gucci, according to Rivals’ Krysten Peek. Carter Jr.’s suit is Gucci as well, judging from the 7-footer’s belt.
