Weekend Takeaways: Michigan Completes Sweep Over Boston University

Whenever Michigan needed a goal, Jackson Hallum was there.

The junior forward tallied two game-tying goals and the overtime winner to lift the Wolverines to a weekend sweep over Boston University.

“You enjoy it tonight and then you’re back to work on Monday,” Michigan head coach Brandon Naurato said. “(It gives us) confidence to come back two, third periods on the road against a really good team then to sing that fight song, means a lot.”

Sophomore forward Evan Werner, who tallied a pair of goals on Friday night, opened the scoring in Saturday's game.

Freshman netminder Cameron Korpi collected his third win of the season, turning aside 24-of-28.

Cornell Continues Hot Stretch Against North Dakota

The Big Red took both games from North Dakota this weekend and have won six of the last seven meetings.

Sophomore forward Ryan Walsh led all skaters with three points, including a pair of assists and three shots on goal and scored the game-tying goal less than a minute into the third period.

Senior Tim Rego's first goal of the season put Cornell in front near the midway point of the frame.

Kyle Penney added the dagger via the empty-netter to seal the win.

Goaltender Ian Shane stopped 25-of-28.

BC Completes Road Sweep Of St. Cloud

Any adjective you can think of, that was Boston College this weekend.The Eagles improved to 5-1-0 on the season with a road sweep in St. Cloud.

BC trailed by a goal early in the first period but stormed back with one goal in both the second and third periods.

Sophomore forward Gabe Perreault, who tallied a pair of goals on Friday, scored the game-winner early in the final period.

Jacob Fowler turned aside a combined 44-of-46 shots on goal. The sophomore goaltender picked up his fourth straight win and fifth of the season.

Gophers Sweep Nittany Lions

Sophomore forward Jimmy Clark, who also had a goal in Friday's game, broke a 0-0 tie with under one minute left in regulation to help Minnesota complete the weekend sweep over Penn State.

Graduate netminder Liam Souliere, who transferred in from Penn State over the summer, stopped all 28 shots to shut out his former team.

Mavericks, Beavers Split Series

Rhett Pitlick and Brett Moravec scored just over one minute apart in the second period to lift Minnesota State to a weekend split over Bemidji State.

Alex Tracy, who saw his shutout end on Isa Parekh's marker in the third period, made 20 saves.
