Weather forecast for South Carolina football vs LSU, 'College GameDay'
South Carolina football may have to deal with some inclement weather Saturday when the Gamecocks face LSU at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Saturday's weather forecast in Columbia includes cloudy skies with a slight chance of rain. By the noon kickoff, the temperature will be around 76 degrees with a 15% chance of rain, with winds up to 12 mph.
For the first time since 2014, ESPN's "College GameDay" is heading to Columbia for the showdown between LSU (1-1) and South Carolina (2-0). The forecast for the start of the 9 a.m. broadcast lists a 22% chance of rain, with winds up to 9 mph.
"College Gameday" will feature South Carolina's women's basketball coach Dawn Staley as the guest picker.
Staley took to X, formerly known as Twitter, saying, "What's up, Gamecock fans. I heard you and saw you on social media asking me to be the guest picker on College Gameday. Well, guess what? When you speak, people listen. I'll be out there at Gamecock Park at 9 a.m. I need to see you out there because we're going to blow this thing out. Let's go Gamecocks."
As for the game, rain would negatively impact the Tigers, who've relied heavily on the passing offense. They have only 90.5 rushing yards in two games and 0 rushing touchdowns. South Carolina has had more success with 253 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.
