Watch: Yuki Kawamura delivers a no-look pass to Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey
It didn't take long for the NBA's shortest and tallest players to connect on a highlight play. Late in the first quarter, Memphis Grizzlies rookies Yuki Kawamura and Zach Edey teamed up for a dazzling play that ended in an Edey dunk against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night.
The 5-foot-8 Kawamura was attempting to drive to the basket when he was cut off by the defense. Kawamura took one more dribble and used a flashy no-look pass to find the wide open 7-4 Edey for an open dunk.

Memphis is without Ja Morant on Saturday due to an ankle injury. Fellow Grizzlies guards Marcus Smart (knee) and Desmond Bane (rest) are also out. Those absences have given Memphis an extended opportunity to see Kawamura in the backup point guard role behind Scotty Pippen Jr.
Edey is the lone Grizzlies starter who has played in all three preseason games. Memphis wants its projected starting center to gain experience ahead of a season where he will be relied on early and often.
