Watch Texas Tech baseball's Cade McGee make web gem at third base vs. Texas Southern

Cade McGee has been a stalwart in the lineup, batting fifth, for the Texas Tech baseball team.

On Friday, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound infielder provided a web gem for the crowd during the Red Raiders home-opening series against Texas Southern. The third baseman had hit fifth in the lineup and came into the contest with a .200 batting average to go with three hits, which included a double.

The Gonzaga transfer, who was limited to 20 games due to injury during the 2023 campaign, earned Freshman All-America accolades back in 2022 and was the WCC Freshman of the Year.

What's next

Texas Tech and Texas Southern are scheduled continue their three-game series with a 2 p.m. Saturday contest. The set is slated to conclude with a 1 p.m. Sunday getaway tilt. All games are set to be streamed on ESPN+.

The Red Raiders are in the midst of a six-game homestand, the longest of the season, which is slated to continue with a three-game series against Gardner-Webb set for contests on March 1 (6:30 p.m.), March 2 (2 p.m.) and March 3 (2 p.m.) with the contests to be online streamed on ESPN+.
