  • Will the Gamecocks make a statement?: After suffering a heartbreaking loss to then-No. 16 LSU in Week 3, South Carolina has a chance to nab its first ranked win of the season Saturday. While the transitive property doesn’t hold much staying power in sports, Ole Miss’ loss to Kentucky (a team USC bulldozed on the road earlier this season) last week makes it easier to feel good about the Gamecocks’ chances at home.

  • The return of Juice Wells: Former Gamecocks WR1 Antwane “Juice” Wells will be back at Williams-Brice Stadium this weekend after transferring to Ole Miss in the offseason. Coach Lane Kiffin posted a video of Wells running a route while the theme from “2001: A Space Odyssey” played over the action back in July. A few days later, USC safety Nick Emmanwori posted a picture on his Instagram story of Wells in an Ole Miss uniform back in July with the caption “Judas Wells.”
