WATCH: Jayson Tatum scores 50 points, 8 rebounds vs. Wizards (5/18)

The Boston Celtics defeated the Washington Wizards in Tuesday’s play-in game, 118-110, to clinch the 7-seed in the Eastern Conference.

Boston was led by Jayson Tatum, who put on an absolute show, scoring 50 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks on 14-of-32 shooting and 17-of-17 from the free throw line.

Tatum got hot in the second quarter, scoring 12 points but it was the third quarter where he and the Celtics took off. JT scored 23 third quarter points as Boston outscored Washington 38-26 in the quarter.

The former Duke Blue Devil was clearly the best player on the floor, including his childhood friend Bradley Beal. If the Celtics have a chance to knock off the Brooklyn Nets, Tatum will need to be the best player for the entire series.
