Watch: Grizzlies' Marcus Smart gets tribute video, standing ovation in return to Boston
Celtics fans love Marcus Smart.
They showed it on Sunday night, when Smart returned to Boston for the first time since he was traded from the Celtics to the Grizzlies last offseason. Smart got a tribute video during a break in the first quarter and then got a standing ovation from the crowd at TD Garden.

After the video concluded, fans started chanting "We love Marcus!" It continued even as Smart sat down and play continued.
Smart played nine seasons with the Celtics, twice helping them to the NBA Finals and winning Defensive Player of the Year in 2022. He was drafted by Boston with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2014 draft and had spent his entire career with the Celtics before this season.
He came to the Grizzlies to bring that experience and defensive know-how, but this season has been marred with injuries to Smart and other key rotation players for Memphis. He's played in only 20 games this season and has been out since Jan. 9 with a finger injury.
Smart is averaging 14.5 points per game this season, the highest mark of his career.
