Watch: Former Ohio State WR Chris Olave records first NFL reception with Saints

Chris Olave has an NFL reception.

The former record-breaking Ohio State receiver and New Orleans Saints' first-round NFL draft pick picked up a first down on his first career reception: an 11-yard gain from quarterback Jameis Winstton against the Atlanta Falcons.

Olave was selected by the Saints with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2022 draft, joining former Buckeyes in Thomas, cornerbacks Marshon Lattimore and Bradley Roby, tight end Nick Vannett and linebacker Pete Werner on the roster.

In four years with the Buckeyes, Olave broke Ohio State's record for career touchdown receptions with 35, finishing his career with175 catches for 2,702 yards.

"I'm very excited. It's a blessing to have a guy like Chris Olave," Thomas told reporters. "I've known Chris before he got here and to have the opportunity to have a guy like that, to train with him... it's an honor. I know the culture he came from, the environment he came from. I know the guys that coached him. Just coming from that winning culture at Ohio State, that brotherhood and bringing another guy in here like that, I know he's going to compete."
