Washington Football Team has narrowed down new team name to 3 options, but won't reveal them
The Washington Football Team has narrowed down its new team name to three options, but it is not going to reveal them yet. Team president Jason Wright confirmed the team is considering three names, but refuted a tweet suggesting possible options.
The tweet listed eight potential options that appeared in a video produced by the Washington Football Team. Wright said the team is "working through a final three," but that the list featuring the final eight wasn't necessarily accurate.
Just to be clear, because everyone keeps asking, we are down to and working through a final three but this is no form of final 8 list. These are just a selection of names that happened to show up in the video our team produced. https://t.co/IzeMAE64EO

Wright didn't provide many details, merely saying that list of names comes from a video produced by the team. Wright didn't necessarily deny the team abandoned all of those options, so it's possible one or all of the names included in the tweet are part of the final three.
Washington Football Team will unveil new name in 2022
The Washington Football Team has spent two years deciding on a new team name. The club changed its name prior to the 2020 NFL season, and will continue being called the Washington Football Team during the 2021 season.
Since adopting that name, the team has stated it would consider other options. It has spent the past couple years assembling those options and soliciting input from fans. The process has moved at a glacial pace at times, but Wright has constantly kept fans in the loop on the team's progress.
Given how passionate fans have been during the process, Wright wants to thoroughly vet all options before making the final decision.
