Steph Curry received 25 minutes of playing time during the Golden State Warriors' season-opening win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The veteran sharpshooter went 4-of-10 from the field, with three of his makes coming from 3-point range. Steve Kerr managed to keep Curry's minutes down by incorporating an unconventional 12-man rotation.

When speaking to the media after the game, Curry shared his thoughts on what he and his teammates must do to ensure the 12-man rotation is a success. He noted how keeping egos in check will be pivotal to making everything work throughout the season.

“You have to have a commitment," Curry said. "No agenda, no egos. Well, healthy egos…If it’s not your night, can’t bring the team down with your energy. Haven’t seen any red flags of that.”

Golden State's strength in depth will mean that some players will struggle for a consistent role on a night-to-night basis. However, it also provides more opportunities for everyone on the roster to get playing time throughout the season, thus giving them an opportunity to prove themselves and cement their names in the rotation.

The Warriors enjoyed a strong preseason and have carried that production level into the start of the new season. The fanbase has a lot to be excited about, especially if the style of play we saw against Portland is what will be on offer night in and night out. If so, a deep rotation makes sense to ensure every one is as fresh as possible.
