Vote now for your Tuscaloosa area girls athlete of the week, for the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 2

It is time to vote for the girls athlete of the week from the Tuscaloosa area for the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 2. The vote will remain open until Thursday at noon.

All five nominees come from performances last week. All sports are considered when picking nominees, as long as the athlete was on The Tuscaloosa News' top performer list from the week before.

In alphabetical order, the nominees are:

  • Faith Bonner, Paul W. Bryant, scored 19 points in a 62-38 win over Demopolis.

  • Char'tavia Conwell, Bibb County basketball, put up 21 points in a 52-42 loss to Homewood. Conwell is averaging 18 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, four steals and three assists per game.

  • Macy Hudgins, Tuscaloosa County, scored a team-high 25 points in a 73-60 senior night win over Hueytown.

  • India Sanders, Gordo, put up a team-high 22 points to go with six rebounds in a 57-18 win over Oakman.

  • Kate Wilkins, Pickens Academy, scored 32 points and pulled down 16 rebounds in a 54-30 victory over Jackson Academy
