It is time to vote for the boys athlete of the week from the Tuscaloosa area for the week of Jan. 22-26. The vote will remain open until Thursday at noon.
All five nominees come from performances last week. All sports are considered when picking nominees, as long as the athlete was on The Tuscaloosa News' top performer list from the week before.
In alphabetical order, the nominees are:
Davis Dare, American Christian Academy, reached the 1,000-career points milestone in a 66-65 win over Hale County, where he put up 22 points to go with four assists.
Joseph Jones, Holy Spirit, scored 22 points to go with 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals in a 63-60 victory over Pickens County.
King Larkin, Central, put up 20 points and brought down 10 rebounds in a 54-43 win over Northridge.
Danilo Stojakovic, Tuscaloosa Academy, put up 29 points in a 63-52 victory over Greene County.
John Walker, Northridge, scored 19 points in a 56-44 win over Paul W. Bryant.
