Meet the Louisville-area high school boys athlete of the week from North Oldham basketball

Which Louisville-area athlete had the best performance during the week of Jan. 8–Jan. 13?

North Oldham senior Grant Neal is your athlete of the week after catching fire on the court for the Mustangs. Neal scored 33 points and grabbed five rebounds, lifting his team to an 85-75 win against Evangel Christian. He followed up the outing by scoring a career-high 41 points in the Mustangs’ 96-86 victory over North Hardin.

St. X’s Chance Dillingham finished second in this week’s poll.

Manual's Malachi Coleman balled out last week. The junior scored 27 points (6-of-8 from beyond the arc) and added seven assists in the Crimsons' 72-59 win over Bullitt East. In the next round, Coleman dropped a double-double, scoring 12 points and accruing an impressive 10 assists in Manual's 87-56 victory against Christian Academy.

Chance Dillingham, Saint Xavier, basketball

St. Xavier's Chance Dillingham was a force on the court last week for the Tigers. In the first round of the Louisville Invitational Tournament, Dillingham scored 31 points to push his team to a 79-57 victory over Moore. In the LIT championship game, the junior dropped 20 points to lift St. Xavier to its first LIT title since 1965 with an 83-76 win against Butler.

Max Green, Oldham County, basketball

Oldham County senior Max Green continues to cook on the hardwood, delivering another outstanding week of performances. In the Colonels' 84-56 victory over Williamstown, Green dropped a 30-point, 10-assist double-double. He also added six rebounds and five steals. In the next game, the senior scored 24 points and hauled in 10 rebounds in North Oldham's 75-68 loss to South Oldham.

North Oldham's Grant Neal was on a mission last week. The senior scored 25 points in the Mustangs' 84-50 win against Shawnee. In North Oldham's next game, Neal dropped 33 points and grabbed five rebounds, lifting his team to an 85-75 win over Evangel Christian. To end the week, the senior guard posted a career-high 41 points to give North Oldham a 96-86 victory over North Hardin.

Dayton Williams, Butler, basketball

Butler's Dayton Williams continues to deliver for the Bears. In the second round of the Louisville Invitational Tournament, Williams scored 23 points and finished with nine rebounds, lifting Butler to a 69-59 victory against Fairdale. The senior followed up his performance with a double-double, 27 points and 11 rebounds, in the Bears' 55-49 semifinal win over Manual. Although the Bears fell 83-76 in the LIT championship game, Williams finished the outing with 27 points and eight rebounds.
