Why Geno Smith is worth a spot start in Week 5

Yahoo Sports fantasy analyst Andy Behrens explains why the Seahawks quarterback should be in your fantasy lineup this week.

Video Transcript

Yeah, I think if you ask most fans right now to name the NFL leader in passing yards, they would guess a whole lot of names before hitting on Geno.

Smith, uh, he's averaging 295 yards per game.

He's coming off 395 at Detroit.

Uh, plus he's completing over 72% of his throws.

Smith also has the most attempts and completions on the year.

Ryan Grubb's offense has been as advertised this week.

He's home against the Giants defense and they are not exactly world beaters.

I am personally guaranteeing at least one DK Metcalf touchdown this week.

It is, it is just a little crazy to me that Geno is still widely available in Yahoo Leagues.

He's just over 50% rostered.

He's only one year removed from actually finishing as the overall QB five.

So we know his fantasy ceiling is relatively high.

I think he's better than a bi week placeholder here.

I think he's actually someone that you can use as a regular part of a quarterback platoon.
