TEREZ PAYLOR: Jameis Winston, AKA Jameis Testaverde, AKA Jameis Doug Williams, has found a new home. Charles, you had that. You dropped that in the middle of the night on people. Those are my favorite scoops. I love those.

He's going to a great place for him. This is a win for him, the New Orleans Saints. Charles, why don't you elaborate on this news you broke?

CHARLES ROBINSON: The two sides of a one year deal, wanted it to be a limited look. It was something that was going to have to be signed after four o'clock on Monday, so it's not part of the compensatory stuff. None of that.

It's going to be-- from what I understand, it's going to be a pretty economical deal for Jameis. I mean, for the Saints. It's going to be pretty cheap, and it's build is sort of a win-win on both sides.

You know, if you're Jameis, you're sitting there. And you're saying, OK, I get to go into that system, which he saw what Teddy Bridgewater did the last couple years. I'm going to be in a room with Drew Brees. I'm going to be there with Sean Payton.

TEREZ PAYLOR: Right.

CHARLES ROBINSON: You get a little bit of a glow up being in a system like that, and hey, maybe you get a shot to play. For the Saints, we want to use Taysom Hill, the same way we used Taysom Hill before, if not expand that a little bit. And we know by using him in this array of ways, we are exposing him to potential injury, and we can't have a situation, where we get Taysom hurt.

And God forbid, Drew gets hurt, again, and then we just don't have a true backup quarterback. So I think they felt like this is an economical option to get a backup quarterback in here, but I thought of you when you said, this guy's career. I think he's going to have a second life in his career. He's going to be the Doug Williams.

TEREZ PAYLOR: Oh, it will happen. It's going to happen.

CHARLES ROBINSON: This is the right-- I mean, like to me, maybe he's not long term for this, right? But then, again, Teddy Bridgewater was supposed to just be-- people forget. Teddy Bridgewater was supposed to be one year, right? And that became more than one year. I think this is in the vein of what you said. This is the right start.

TEREZ PAYLOR: I do think this is very fascinating Taysom Hill, though. I know they want to use Taysom Hill in a bunch of different ways. In the past, Sean Peyton's been very complimentary about what Taysom Hill is. He says, he sees him as a good quarterback in this league. I will tell you this. Remember, I went to New Orleans in December.

CHARLES ROBINSON: You did a good piece. You didn't really good piece on Taysom.

TEREZ PAYLOR: Thank you. I went to New Orleans in December. I'm telling you guys. When I asked, hey, do you see yourself at-- he answered it for me before I could finish it. Looked me dead in my eyes and was very, very, very resolute.

The man does see himself as a quarterback, OK? Like that's not a joke. He does. But I do think it's interesting that along with this deal for Jameis Winston, they also gave them a little sugar.

CHARLES ROBINSON: In terms of whether it'll work, it's a crowded room. That is a crowded room, and not only is it a crowded room. I think it's an interesting room, because you and I have been in front of James before.

You and I have been in front of Drew Brees before. You and I have interviewed Drew Brees. Actually, you and I interviewed Drew Brees together before just last summer. They're not the same guy, not even remotely the same guy. They are different guys.

TEREZ PAYLOR: Can I interject very quickly?

CHARLES ROBINSON: Sure.

TEREZ PAYLOR: Taysom Hill's pretty serious too.

CHARLES ROBINSON: That leads into Drew. Drew's a very serious guy, and we haven't talked in this show before about what happened to Garrett Grayson years ago. He got into a meeting room with Drew Brees and Luke McCown. And what did they do? They ran over him.

They ran over Garrett Grayson. They're like, listen, we're not waiting for anything. It's incumbent upon you to get it, you know, come in knowing everything. We're not waiting. We're not teaching you anything.

I'm telling you right now, they're not going to teach Jameis anything. What they're going to do is they're going to sit there and go, OK, this guy's going to come in. And it's on Jameis to go, I want to be challenged. I'm going to know the offense inside and out.

And when we get into these quarterback meetings, I better be ready to answer. Boom, boom, boom, we're moving. We're moving. We're moving. That's how it's going to be, and I mean, I'm asking you here. Do you think maybe that's a good thing for Jameis? Maybe it is.

TEREZ PAYLOR: Yeah, I think he's going to get to see how a hall of fame quarterback prepares first hand. I think that's going to be good for him.
