The United States men's basketball team won their fifth consecutive gold medal on Saturday.

Coming off of a wild, 17-point comeback in a semifinal win over Serbia on Thursday, the U.S. beat France in the gold medal game, 98-87.

LeBron James won his third career gold medal. Kevin Durant now has a record four gold medals.

Stephen Curry, who had been going through a quiet Olympic games in his first experience, exploded for 36 points in the semifinal, one point off Team USA's single-game record set by Carmelo Anthony, and then scored a team-high 24 points in Saturday's gold medal game.

Curry just hit back-to-back 3s, the second as the shot clock expired, to give Team USA a 93-84 lead with only 1:20 left. Curry now has 21 points on seven 3s after he poured in 36 in the semifinal.

Anthony Davis also now has four blocks and six offensive rebounds, as he's been crucial around the rim for the USA.

Just as France cut the lead down to one basket, Curry hit a 3 and Kevin Durant made two free throws, and with 2:22 to go the U.S. leads France 87-79.

Durant and Curry both have 15 points. James has 14 points, eight assists and six rebounds.
