Updating Texas rankings in college football polls entering Michigan game

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers will make his second trip to Michigan Stadium this weekend when the Longhorns play the Michigan Wolverines. He was a backup at Ohio State when the Buckeyes played in Ann Arbor in 2021.

Texas football's 52-0 thrashing of Colorado State helped the Longhorns gain ground in the latest round of polls, released on Tuesday.

Coach Steve Sarkisian's team moved up one spot to No. 3 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Poll. Texas got some help from Oregon, which received a scare at home from Idaho and dropped below the Longhorns as a result.

A top-10 matchup awaits Texas (1-0) on Saturday (11 a.m., FOX) in Ann Arbor. Michigan (1-0), the defending national champion, came in at No. 8 in the coaches poll after topping Fresno State, 30-10, last week.
