Updating LSU rankings in college football polls after UCLA win in Week 4
BATON ROUGE – LSU football outscored UCLA 17-0 in the second half to put a close first-half game further out of reach inside Tiger Stadium on Saturday.
The Tigers took control in the final two periods to down the Bruins 34-17. LSU (3-1) has now won three straight games and will welcome South Alabama (1-2) to Baton Rouge next Saturday night (6:45 p.m., SEC Network).
UCLA and LSU traded blows in the first half and went into the locker rooms tied at 17. The lead swapped a couple of times and was tied a couple of times.
Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier had another supreme performance, going 32-of-44 for 352 yards and three touchdowns. Tight end Mason Taylor has been Nussmeier's go-to guy when a play is needed to be made as he finished with eight catches for 77 yards, while converting four first downs off receptions.
