Updating LSU rankings in college football polls after Week 7 overtime win over Ole Miss

BATON ROUGE – LSU football trailed Ole Miss all game. So how it did win?

Well, the Tigers' defense pitched a near shutout in the second half and overtime, allowing Lane Kiffin's high-flying offense to manage just three field goals, including a 57-yarder that gave Ole Miss a brief 26-23 advantage after the first overtime possession.

LSU junior quarterback Garrett Nussmeier had what he called "the worst performance of his career," but played a solid second half, throwing two touchdowns in a few minute span, the first to Aaron Anderson that sent the game to overtime and then the game winner to Kyren Lacy to lift LSU, 29-26, in a thriller inside Tiger Stadium Saturday night in an epic top-10 matchup.

Brian Kelly's Tigers (5-1, 2-0 SEC) are still undefeated in SEC play and will take on Arkansas in Fayetteville next Saturday night (6 p.m., ESPN)
