UNC basketball moves up to a 2 seed in latest Bracketology

The North Carolina Tar Heels not only look like the favorite in the Atlantic Coast Conference but they are emerging as a team that could be a national title contender as well. With an 11-3 record overall including back-to-back wins on the road at Pitt and Clemson, Hubert Davis’ team has positioned themselves for a big run.

There’s still a tough test ahead on Wednesday night as they head to Raleigh to face off against NC State who enters the game at 11-3 and riding a four-game win streak into the matchup. A win here would complete a three-game road trip with a sweep and push UNC’s stock even higher.

As we go into the game on Wednesday, North Carolina is starting to get some love in the updated Bracketology by ESPN’s Joe Lunardi. He has UNC as the No. 2 seed and No. 7 overall:

The one line features Purdue, Houston, Kansas, and UConn while Tennessee and Arizona are ahead of UNC on the two line. Kentucky is right behind the Tar Heels.

UNC does have the win over Tennessee at home as well as beating Oklahoma on a neutral court. The Sooners are a No. 4 seed in the latest Bracketology.
