The UFC middleweight title stayed with South African champion [autotag]Dricus Du Plessis[/autotag].

Du Plessis defended his belt this past Saturday in the main event of UFC 305, submitting former champ [autotag]Israel Adesanya[/autotag] by fourth-round rear-naked choke. It was the first title defense for Du Plessis (22-2 MMA, 8-0 UFC) after he won the belt in January by dethroning Sean Strickland. On the other hand, this result left Adesanya (24-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC), an all-time middleweight great, 1-3 in his past four outings.
