UFC 242 results: Khabib Nurmagomedov submits Dustin Poirier to retain lightweight title
Khabib Nurmagomedov (28-0) kept his perfect record intact with a third round submission of Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi. Afterward, the lightweight champion jumped out of the Octagon to hug UFC president Dana White. Poirier, humble in defeat, exchanged shirts with the champion then gave an emotional post-fight interview in which he apologized to anyone he let down.
In the co-main event, Paul Felder (17-4) exacted revenge for a 2015 unanimous decision loss to Edson Barboza (20-8) with a split decision win after three explosive rounds in which both fighters took and dished out lots of damage.
