Daytona Truck Series qualifying results, starting lineup, NASCAR TV schedule
DAYTONA BEACH — Ty Majeski will lead the field to green in Friday night's Craftsman Truck Series opener, the Fresh From Florida 250.
Majeski turned in a second-round lap of 50.345, edging three-time event winner Johnny Sauter (50.363) by less than two hundredths of the a second. Corey LaJoie (50.443), Matt Mills (50.491) and Tyler Ankrum (50.491) rounded out the top five with DeLand native Daniel Dye qualifying seventh with a lap of 50.641 seconds.
The Fresh From Florida 250 was set for a 7:30 p.m. start time on Friday, the first points-paying race of Daytona 500 Speedweek. Earlier on Friday, it was announced that the ARCA Menards Series event, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, would be run after the Truck Series race on Friday night at approximately 10:30 due to impending weather. Willie Mullins won the ARCA poll on Friday afternoon with Shane van Gisbergen missing the field after a disappointing qualifying lap.
A total of 40 cars attempted to qualify for the Fresh From Florida 250 with four cars missing the 36-car field. Those included Jennifer Jo Cobb, a late entry into the race, as well as Ryan Huff, Clay Greenfield and Mason Maggio.
