Twitter reactions show Seahawks fans ready for changes after loss to Steelers
Mediocrity is the name of the game now for the Seattle Seahawks, who can only match last year’s 9-8 record at best with a win this week. Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers should serve as a wakeup call for an organization that has allowed good to become the enemy of the great. Seattle’s fans are certainly ready to see some major changes, especially on defense. Based on the Twitter reactions after the game, a lot of them want to see the team move on from head coach Pete Carroll.
Here’s what the 12s are tweeting about following Sunday’s devastating loss.

This is not a hater tweet but simply the facts.
As good as the Pete Carroll has been, there have been so many missed opportunities to win more.
Also the postseason has been a disaster since 2014.
It’s time for some big changes, both coaching and players. #Seahawks #NFL https://t.co/QooYUNlzp4

What about Darrell Taylor? He's invisible out there all season. And I'm guessing it's not because he's doing the dirty work helping other players to thrive? And #Seahawks can't overly rely on just a few players on Defense to carry the team.

Pete Carroll's defense has been beyond broken since 2018. #Seahawks https://t.co/VJOH0aeU44

Don’t know why I’m disappointed at the loss and probably missing out on the play offs like we was actually gonna do anything in them anyway 😭😭 #Seahawks

Even if we had won out, we would have most likely been road kill in the playoffs.
It's time for a change.
The tackling is atrocious.
The offense is archaic. Was going to save this rant till next week, but what's the point?
The outcome won't matter in the long run.

Blog: Being bullied by the Steelers in a vital home game showed once again why it's time for a new era of #Seahawks football https://t.co/xnfgOkKsLh

#Seahawks lost this game when Pete punted on 4th and 1. The stage was set early on by once again, playing not to lose. Steelers played to win. And it showed. Pete needs to go. #Peteneedstogo

Another glaringly mediocre season w/terrible discipline.
Games like today clearly demonstrate we should have taken Jalen Carter.
ZERO ability to play Defense, especially to stop the run.
200 yards rushing allowed???
400 years of total offense allowed???#Seahawks— Adam Dorame (@adam_dorame) January 1, 2024
I’ll always root for the playoff scenario to the end but maybe the events of last 7 hours creates the #Seahawks reckoning needed. I’ve been torn b/c love Pete but today was a damming showing for everything he believes in and getting it through to a new group.

I love Pete Carroll.
Respect what he has done in Seattle. But it's time for a change.
These aren't swap out a coach or co-ordinator change. The entire system needs to be purged. There are issues on defense and offense. The team is undisciplined. A modern offense is also needed. pic.twitter.com/RqoIzU87SU

Honestly do not remember seeing worse effort from a Pete Carroll unit than this defense today.

Brother, if you think Geno Smith–who was under siege for four quarters and made one mistake–is the reason Seattle lost today…. https://t.co/W6pCqfH4Hk

#Seahawks losing to Mason Rudolph at home is simply not an acceptable way to end 2023
— George Jarjour (@GeorgeOnTap) January 1, 2024
The #Seahawks spent all off-season talking about improving the run defense. It’s still atrocious.
— Rob Staton (@robstaton) December 31, 2023
We don’t deserve to be in the playoffs tbh I want Pete to go out on a playoff game but I mean shit Najee Harris hasn’t had a 100 yard rushing game all year………our run defense must have missed their alarm clock this morning 🤢 #Seahawks
— SEAHAWKGOON (@TheSeaToSeattle) January 1, 2024
An absolutely shameful performance by Pete Carroll & Clint Hurtt’s #Seahawks defense today:
• 468 yards
• 202 yards rushing
• Dominated front 4
• Poor tackling
• Poor coverage
• 37:33 time of poss… to a poor offensive team with a backup QB.
It’s. Time. For. Change.
— Mitch Levy (@Mitch_Seattle) January 1, 2024
I’ll say it for you: The tackling today was atrocious!! #Seahawks

Losing at home sucks. We've now lost as many games as we did last season with one game still to play. No improvement there. Every game lost highlights our weaknesses and bright spots. Still #GoHawks #Seahawks

You can only rope-a-dope so long before you get exposed
Out-rushed, out-hit, out-performed at the line of scrimmage in nearly every game this season and never more so than today #Seahawks

Everyone needs to take accountability at this point. Coaches and players. #Seahawks

Pete Carroll:
– punted on 4th and 1 from midfield for a net gain of 30 yards
– wasted a challenge on a play that had no chance of being overturned, costing Seattle a timeout
– onside kicked instead of kicking deep when they still had the 2 minute warningHis time should be over. pic.twitter.com/w11mKTdYoX
