MIAMI GARDENS -- Tua Tagovailoa is in uniform and expected to play tonight for the Miami Dolphins against the Washington Commanders.

Unlike last week's preseason opener against Atlanta, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel plans to give most of his starters limited playing time tonight.

Tagovailoa is not expected to have his top three targets. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are not in uniform. Odell Beckham Jr. is on the physically unable to perform list.

Also not spotted in uniform is linebacker Jaelan Phillips, who came off the physically unable to perform list this week following rehab from a torn Achilles.

Others not spotted in uniform during warmups: CB Jalen Ramsey, LB Anthony Walker Jr, S Jevon Holland, S Jordan Poyer, RB Jeff Wilson Jr., RB Jaylen Wright, RB Salvon Ahmed, CB Ethan Bonner, C Aaron Brewer, LT Terron Armstead, TE Tanner Conner, WR Anthony Schwartz, TE Jody Fortson Jr., DT Benito Jones.

For the Commanders, DT Jonathan Allen, DT Daron Payne and LB Bo Bauer (who was injured in the joint workout) will not play. Also out: QB Marcus Mariota, QB Sam Hartman, LB Dante Fowler Jr., LB Keandre Jones, LB Bobby Wagner, LB Jordan Magee, T Brandon Coleman, TE Zach Ertz, DT Jer'Zhan Newton, DE Efe Obada, DE Clelin Ferrell.
