The trailer is out for the Challenger movie featuring Dean Cain ... and Les Miles
Our sneak peek at Kansas coach Les Miles’ acting job in “The Challenger Disaster” is here.
The former LSU coach was cast in the movie about the 1986 space shuttle disaster as he looked for ways to spend his time in 2017 and 2018 between jobs at LSU and Kansas. The trailer for the movie, once titled “Angry Men,” came out on Friday, and you can spot Miles at multiple points in the 90-second clip.
Miles told the Advocate last spring that he enjoyed his acting career. “The Challenger Disaster” is the second movie he’s appeared in.
“It was so fun,” Miles said. “I am one of the NASA chiefs. The engineers came to the chief and to the other contracting companies and said, ‘Wait to launch.’ They said, ‘We’re not going to.’ The engineers were right.”
Miles said in that interview that he wanted to be the president, a college football coach, and an actor when he was a kid. Well, he’s accomplished two of those three things. Maybe Miles will be running for president in 2024 after he leads Kansas back to the land of being above .500.
OK, that’s really farfetched. But not too crazy. After all, a reality-show star successfully ran for president in 2016.
