TPC Southwind to undergo 'significant' renovation ahead of 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship

TPC Southwind, the home of the PGA Tour's FedEx St.Jude Championship, will undergo a "significant" renovation between November 2024 and August 2025, the club told members on Tuesday.

"This renovation is necessary because the extent of mutation the course has experienced on greens surfaces and surrounds has significantly compromised the ability of the greens to perform at a premium level," TPC Southwind general manager Larry Antinozzi said in an email to members. "During the last resurfacing of greens, only the top 4 inches were replaced which means the greens themselves date back to 1988."

The project will include rebuilding and resurfacing all 18 greens complexes and practice greens, resurfacing tee boxes and upgrading parts of the irrigation system, Antinozzi said in the email.

The course will close nine holes in November and then the other nine holes in January. The course will reopen after the FedEx St. Jude golf tournament, part of the FedEx Cup playoffs, in August 2025.

The FedEx St. Jude championship typically takes place in August and is the first of three playoff events for the FedEx Cup, featuring the top players on tour each season. The 2024 tournament is set for Aug. 15-18.

Last year's tournament was won by Lucas Glover.
