Tony Miles apologizes after slow roll comment to WSOP champion John Cynn
With $8.8 million on the line and a chance to become the next in a long line of World Series of Poker main event champions, John Cynn deliberated whether or not to call Tony Miles’ all-in shove.
He took a second. He stood up. And ultimately, he drop his chips in. It was the right move. Cynn won the 2018 World Series main event. But afterward, Miles embraced Cynn and mentioned Cynn might have slow-rolled him — the equivalent of a bat flip in baseball. Then, on Sunday, he apologized.
“In retrospect, I do not believe in any way that it was a ‘slow roll,'” Miles wrote on Twitter. “We were playing for millions of of dollars, and John had every right to take his time and talk through his decision.”
I just wanted to respond to some of the things that were being said last night after my HU match with Johnny. I appreciate people being understanding and open-minded about a situation where we were both delirious and battling our ❤️’s out! pic.twitter.com/IKz7E0CiED

The two poker players sat at the table and tested their wit for 199 hands. The heads up match to take home poker’s most notable bracelet lasted nearly 10 hours.
Not to mention, the two players had already played daily for the week prior.
