Thanks, Packers! Detroit Lions will get second home playoff game with win over Rams
Well, look who has a chance to get the last laugh now, Dallas Cowboys?! Huh, NFL?!
That's right, how about the Detroit Lions!
Why is that? Well, thanks to the Cowboys stunning 48-32 blowout upset loss to the rival Green Bay Packers in the Sunday late afternoon game, the Lions are guaranteed to earn a second home playoff game next week, should they win their first postseason game in 32 years Sunday night vs. Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams.
If the Lions, a three-point favorite, defeat the Rams, they will host the Monday night Philadelphia at Tampa Bay winner next week in the divisional round at Ford Field. The Lions are trying to axe the longest playoff drought in the four major pro sports in North America.

No. 7 seed Green Bay will visit No. 1 seed San Francisco next week.
Back to those Cowboys though.
Dallas nipped the Lions, 20-19, in Week 17 in Texas in extreme controversial fashion after a 2-point conversion was nullified by a referee mistake. (Yet, the NFL doubled down and backed the refs.) This gave the Cowboys the tiebreaker over the Lions and when both teams finished 12-5 by winning the following week, the Cowboys earned the No. 2 seed and the Lions took the 3-seed. If both teams would have won Sunday in the wild-card round, they would have rematched in Arlington, Texas.
Now, that gut-wrenching loss is irrelevant. Thanks, Packers.
