Texas A&M WR flips off fans running to locker room at halftime
Things weren’t going so well in College Station.
Louisiana-Lafayette scored a late second-quarter touchdown to take a 21-14 lead at halftime over Texas A&M on Saturday.
As the Aggies ran off their home field at halftime, freshman wide receiver Will Gunnell had a message to fans above the tunnel. And it involved two fingers.
There was no crowd audio as the SEC Network showed the shot of Texas A&M players heading to the locker room, so it’s unclear if the gesture was toward unhappy Aggie fans or a contingent of ULL fans that had made the trip West. Either way, it’s a regrettable move by a teenager that was unfortunately shown on live television.
Gunnell’s brother, Grant, is the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2018 according to Rivals. Grant is also currently a verbal commit to Texas A&M.
Things improved a lot in the second half for A&M, however. The Aggies scored 34 unanswered points to win 45-21.
